dont starve together

  • Endless mode is intended to be a more relaxed mode that doesn't force players to cooperate.
  • No resurrection items exist, including touchstones (although their set pieces with pig heads will still be generated). Players who die are returned to the character select screen, allowing them to respawn in a new random location as a new character with their map progress wiped.
  • Wilderness mode spawns players in random locations across the map.
  • When all players are dead, a 120-second timer starts, and if no players are revived in that time, the world resets. It is intended to be a cooperative, more difficult mode, in which dead players become Ghost Characters (see below). Resurrection is always available via the Florid Postern. Survivors will not die from starvation, freezing, overheating, or the darkness.
  • Relaxed - A more relaxed playstyle with less threats from the world.

But the initial pull is what keeps a lot of people addicted to it, probably something that happens to a lot of free to play games especially, but evidently sometimes single player games as well. Huge amounts of reviews on this game for some reason have been twisted into false positivity, probably due to the fact that there is a charm to the concept, music and aesthetic to this game, but even that has been faded out. Hamlet is a bit more of a pleasant experience since the resource gathering is made quicker when you have the tools to do it, like shears for tall cut grass, getting you 2 stacks of grass in about a minute as opposed to going around for a solid in-game day to get just one. Yup, you are correct on that one., it is a huge grinding time sink.

Since you do seem to be stuck with it, maybe you can learn to enjoy it once you are aware of what else can actually be done in it (since the game doesn't exactly tell you anything more than "don't starve" for your tutorial). The fighting is less about your strength, and more about your wit. Want to use other wild animals or enemies to fight? you can do that to (getting a clockwerk rhino to ram into a beefalo herd can be fun to watch). You want to gather a bunch of minions who do the fighting for you? yeah, totally. You want to stick to ranged? also technically an option. You want to tank? you can do so, though you will need to learn to pick your fights according to your current tankiness. It's not for everyone though.Ĭombat can be a little basic if all you do is kite, but kiting isn't your only method of combat either.

It can be repetitive and grindy but if you fall into that rhythm it can be fluent and even somewhat calming. It's what I would consider a "rhythm survival" game, which basically means there is a rhythm to your daily schedule in game.
